After President Joe Biden settled in the White House, his dogs were moved into four days after. Their presence hasn’t gone unnoticed by the interned, who were loving the wholesome canine pics. Champ and Major Biden have gain a broad popularity now, they even have social media accounts dedicated to their activity.

Pop culture, entertainment, and celebrity expert Mike Sington gave his take on Champ and Major arriving at the White House. “I, and most Americans are thrilled our new President and First Lady have dogs in the White House! Probably because it was so unusual for the Trumps to not have any pets. The general feeling was it spoke to their lack of empathy. It really stood out that the previous President didn’t have a dog, because Presidential families going back decades before him were all dog lovers,” Mike said.

They’re presence also carries a symbol of things finally going back to normal for the US, it’s like a call from the President’s family, that we’re a normal family who loves dogs just like you do. It is definitely a touch a normalcy that was lacking during the past four years.
Something else notable it that Major is the first shelter dog to call the White House home, which is another positive message.
The White House reports that Champ is loving his dog bed by the fireplace, while Major is having fun running around the South Lawn.

Major and Champ are both German Shepherds. The Bidens permanently adopted Major in 2018 after fostering him for some time when he had to stay at a shelter. He’s the first shelter dog to live in the White House, and we couldn’t be more proud. While Major is 3 years old, the Bidens have had Champ since December 2008.
This is the first time since 2017, when the Obamas left, that pets have taken up residence in the White House.

Among the dogs, Biden’s granddaughter also has a cat, which is currently the first cat of the United States until the Bidens adopt one of their own.

The First Dogs’ fans even put out a hilarious ‘official statement’ full of woofs on their behalf. The statement that got translated so that we hoomans could understand it, too. They said that they love it at the White House, everyone’s petting and feeding them, and they enjoyed taking a nap at the Oval Pawwfice.
