Finland’s forests are known for their beautiful animals and Helsinki-based photographer, Joachim Munter, has done an incredible job to brings us great visuals of them.
Photographing animals it’s not an easy job. It takes a lot of time for you to earn their trust so they will feel comfortable around you. It took almost two months for Munter to earn these animals’ trust and finish his project. He managed to capture close-up and intimate portraits of these forest creatures in their natural habitat.
All of his subjects look quite comfortable in his presence. Foxes stare curiously into the lens, squirrels happily munch on foraged nuts, and occasionally, woodland birds perch on Munter’s hand while trying to grab some delicious seeds.
Munter uses the striking depth of the fields, which invited the viewer to focus on the beauty of each animal. All images have their own enchanting quality, not only highlighting the personalities of these amazing animals, but they also showcase Finland’s fairytale landscape, in all its gorgeous forest hues.
