Now more than a year since this pandemic started, and we’re still dealing with it battling with new measurements every day, quarantine life, pandemic news all over the media, the circle of the infected people around us getting smaller and smaller every day. This sounds horrible, but what are we tell you that we have something that will help you see this situation from a more positive perspective.

Chow Hon Lam is the artist behind the Buddy Gator comic series which started on the 22nd of June 2020. The reason Chow choose an alligator as the main character just to show the public not to judge a book by its covers. An alligator can be a good friend as well. We’ve seen some of the Buddy Gator comics earlier, but now Chow has brought a new set of comics for us.

Earthwonders reached out to Chow to ask him more about the amazing work he does. “The inspiration for my comics comes from my daily life, stories from people around me, news we see on the internet, a post that my friends and family share on social media, and most of the time, it is from TV shows and movies, I like movies a lot,” explained the artist for us.

Dark Jokes That Will Make You Feel Guilty for Laughing by Good Bear Comics

Are you that type of person that grimaces or recoil in horror or do you laugh out loud even if you know that probably a place in hell is reserved for you? Feeling guilty or you just enjoy the overall dark humor. If the latter is true maybe you are smarter than the average population says a study on this subject.

A 2017 study by Austrian neurologists found that people who appreciate dark jokes, which they define as “humor that treats sinister subjects like death, disease, deformity, handicap, or warfare with bitter amusement,” may actually have higher IQs than those who don’t. What’s more, they’re less negative and aggressive than people who strictly prefer family-friendly jokes. Why? Because if you can see the humor in even the bleakest parts of life, and you can laugh at truly dark jokes, you’re less likely to take the world too seriously.

And many artists use this type of comedy to depicts their artwork. James from “good bear comics” creates dark comics for his followers. As such he gathers already 89.8k followers on his Instagram.

When asked what inspires him and how he makes these comics he stated; “If I think of something funny that would make a good comic, I’ll write it down. I usually run it by friends and family to see if they find it funny first.

A big factor in what idea I decide to turn into a comic is what I feel like drawing next—if I feel like drawing cute animals, I’ll pick a joke from my list of ideas with animals. I also have a lot of comic ideas that I love, but they would be a pain to draw, so I, unfortunately, keep putting those off for later.”

That’s a very interesting fact considering how offensive these jokes might be. But hey they are just jokes after all!

Now scroll down to read the comics; we will be watching you if you laugh at these dark jokes or not!
