Each one of us has something we fear of. It could be one of those fantasies about monsters in the dark, or something simple as a fear of heights. Seeing these comics, you will know that you’re not the only one.
Fran Krause is a comic writer, illustrator and animator. Fran uses his humor and artistry to emphasize these fears of people. Krause teaches animation at the California Institute of Arts as well. His comics are a great mix of ridiculousness, sarcasm, and twisted endings.
Fran started his “Deep Dark Fears” project based on the real experiences that people share with him on the internet. Our fears and traumas come from different experiences we have in life, and through these comics the artist puts them into a whole new spotlight.
Frans’ first book “Deep Dark Fears” became a New York Times bestseller for hardcover graphic novels. Adittionally it was followed by a second volume “The Creeps: A Deep Dark Fears Collection” in 2017.
