Artist Creates Hilarious Comics With Twisted Endings, and Here Are 25 of His Best

This is Mohamed El Mayati, aka Moe. He’s been a cartoonist for almost 3 years now but has been drawing for over 10 already. His love for cartoons emerged from childhood, even though he never saw himself doing cartoons for real until a friend encouraged him to do so. And we are so happy that he did, seeing the result of the hilarious comics he creates.

“I have had developed my drawings skills to an okay-ish level but never actually used them to create an art project of my own, never even considered it. Since I always put too much pressure on myself, I wanted do create something that wasn’t too hard for me to create, so I thanked my friend for the idea and started with these little comics. I would call them my first art project. These comics are easy to make and don’t take up to much time, which allows me to experiment with different ideas which one of them could potentially turn into a separate project one day, at least that’s what I hope. I definitely want to create different illustration and comic projects in the future, as I further develop,” explained to the artist when reached out by Earthwonders.

“His comics are one of a kind. They can turn any unpleasant situation into a hilarious one. The artist told us what inspires him to create these comics. “I get my inspiration from everywhere. I like to think that my brain comes up with the ideas I use in my comics with the things I feed it. The comics I read, the shows I watch, video games I play, events I attend, the time I spent doing things with friends, and so on. I have noticed that the best ideas happen when I’m not even trying to come up with an idea. They just pop up.

This happens fairly rarely which is why I don’t rely on these moments fully. I have build sort of a writing habit where I spent some time every day just thinking about ideas and writing them down. Most of my ideas I find this way. Or they find me however you want to put it,” said Moe.

While you scroll down his Instagram feed or his comic site, it is impossible to keep looking without cracking up in laughter. Moe counts a number of 11.6k followers who love his work. “Many of my readers have written to me personally and told me that they are great, which, you know, is a big ego booster. I rarely show my work offline, since there aren’t people around me that would find it interesting. So it’s really nice to know that people online find the stuff I do awesome. That’s also a motivation boost!”<

Art is a representation of oneself. It is an expression. One can write out his sentiments in an artistically-constructed poem. Another one can express himself by painting how he feels. On the other hand, one can draw how he perceives the world. Thus, art is beautiful and is open to many interpretations.
