“A man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” This expression for sure will come in your mind when you hear the story of Amarildo Silva. Amarildo is a Brazilian craftsman who makes beds for animals out of old tires. His passion for crafts and love of animals gave the fruit of this project. It all started two years ago, when he was looking for a way to make some extra money.
He decided to use the trash that people had thrown up in the street, and turn that into something beautiful by using his talent. A perfect combination to save the planet and earn some money.
Seeing how the old tires were being used as a shelter by the street dogs, he got the idea to create just that. He collected tires he found on the street, washed, colored, cut, and decorated them. He makes special designs on each bed and writes the name of the animal to who the bed belongs.
He’s work has been loved by many who have purchased his designs, and that motivates the artist to keep going forward with his work. Amarildo believes that this project will help on keeping a cleaner environment, plus he’s happy to see adorable animals napping in the beds he made.
