Hungarian Couple Recreate Scenes From Famous Movies During Quarantine And The Results Are Hilarious

Using basic locations, like kitchen and living room, the cinephile duo improvised shots from popular flicks such as ‘The Shining’ and ‘Men in Black’ at home.

Bored by the weeks-long coronavirus lockdown? Not Hungarian film buffs Fanni and Norbert who have recreated dozens of scenes in their flat from “Ghost,” the “Game of Thrones,” “Scarface” and other films using whatever household utensils they could find.

The couple’s photos quickly went viral on social media, and now they just can’t stop, coming up every day with new ideas.

Fanni Kovacs and Hosszu Norbert have shared photos of their brilliant blockbuster scenes’ redos that were accomplished on a limited budget. The couple has been posting their work on Facebook and the internet is simply awestruck.

Using basic locations, like the kitchen and the living room, the cinephile duo improvised shots from the popular flicks such as The Shining, Men in Black, Harry Potter, and other giant productions in a humorous remake. In one such photo, the couple staged The Shining thriller scene using a salami stick in place of an axe to pervade horror.

In yet another, the movie buffs replaced the jumbo machine gun with toilet paper rolls, all the while airing fires on the big screen in the background to rework the burning tanker scene form the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger film Commando. They also shot some of the hilarious monochrome stills from the Charlie Chaplin’s movies.

Revivifying the emotional scene from the movie Forrest Grump, Norbert can be seen gifting Fanni an item off the kitchen shelf instead of the Nike running shoes. The egg tray seemed a superb replacement for the couple’s one of the favourite scenes from Men in Black.

Not just that, the duo recreated some of the prodigious posters of the Hollywood movies like for Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, Wreck It Ralph and Love Actually, scribbling the proposal in the Hungarian language.

#7 Star Wars

Speaking to a British media outlet, Fanni said that it took the couple over two hours to stage at least three photos; however, they were planning to recreate more scenes as and when the idea strikes. He added that he and his partner Norbi are performers and have mostly worked with events. Since the coronavirus lockdown has put a stop to their work, they decided to give it a try at home instead.

In one of their homemade spinoffs, Fanni and Norbert — their last names were withheld — parrot a famous shot of “Star Wars” characters Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia with a kitchen utensil pinch-hitting for a lightsaber. Another cosplay depicts the cinematic tribute band cleverly recreating the “Rocky” movie poster with an oven mitt.

“I am a huge movie buff and Norbi loves movies from the ’70s and ’80s, so our love for the craft is what inspired this series,” Fanni tells Jam Press. Former performers who specialized in live events, Fanni and Norbert decided to turn their talents to entertaining themselves and fellow isolationists after their careers were put on hold by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Now we have a lot of time to do things we couldn’t do before, so we tried to make the best out of this situation while also using our creativity,” says Fanni, who along with her husband ran a local improv theater.

Not only that, but the thespian says that the pair still possess “a lot of accessories and costumes” left over from when they used to play dress-up during their university days.

The result: a compendium of low-budget scene recreations worthy of Michel Gondry’s cinematic love letter “Be Kind Rewind.” The length of each photo shoot varies, according to Fanni, but she says it takes around “three hours to stage two of the scenes.”

“We are happy to make people smile,” says Fanni, who plans to continue the recreations in the future.

#11 Wreck It Ralph

Norbi offers a toilet paper-filled tribute to Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Commando,” which is reportedly his favorite film. Here’s hoping the TP didn’t go to waste in light of rampant shortages.

And if you’re not too Governatored out, we submit Norbi doing his best impression of pregnant Schwarzenegger in “Junior.”

No collection would be complete without a shout-out to the most famous scene in the 1980 horror classic “The Shining,” starring Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall and recreated here with a sausage in lieu of a threatening ax.

#12 Hannibal

Which scenes they select depends on what they can find at home: dough instead of clay, tinned tomatoes instead of blood, a vacuum cleaner instead of a gun.

“I just hope that these photos will bring a smile to people’s faces,” Fanni said.

Guy Explains Why His CEO Left Work At Exactly At 5 PM, Others Share Stories About The Wholesome Bosses They’ve Had)

Throughout the months, we’ve known some people who had conflicts with their higher-ups for not respecting their work schedules. For example, we met this man who wasn’t allowed to leave early even though there was no more work, so he saw to it that he wouldn’t work anymore after his time. We have also known this guy who wasn’t let go even after his work hours.

Today, we’ll end these kinds of stories on a positive note. In a TikTok video by Alec (@handle), he retold his story where he observed his boss leaving at 5 pm on the dot. He then discovered him doing some work in his car. When he asked him why he did his matters in the car and not in his office, the boss responded that he wanted his employees to appreciate their work schedules by making them comfortable at leaving at 5 pm as well.
