Luck it’s what you need when it comes to thrifting. Secondhand shopping can be a real scavenger hunt sometimes, and you never know what treasure going to collect in the end.

There’s a huge online community of 1.6 million members of  The ‘Thrift Store Hauls’ subreddit, which has been active since August 2011. The ‘Thrift Store Hauls’ community is all about people coming together and sharing their “thrifty finds” from garage sales, flea markets, and—yes—even pawn shops and estate sales.

In class, I learned that when I don’t understand something, someone else probably does. It’s more useful to learn someone’s perspective in a field than to force your perspective and fail miserably.

That’s the moral lesson to be learned in this viral Twitter thread by Gennifer Hutchison. For her, there are things that male historians and anthropologists get wrong because they usually don’t involve women’s perspectives in their research.
