Eris is a large-nosed borzoi, a breed that is known for its longer snouts. However, the two-year-old pup has a particularly long nose
Lily Kambourian, 27, from Richmond, Virginia, adopted Eris in July 2018. She says that she has not yet looked into having Eris’s nose verified as the world’s longest, but admits she would be happy to. Lily explained that people regularly stop her and Eris in the street because the dog looks so unique and interesting
Adorable images show Eris, the two-year-old large-nosed borzoi, frolicking in the garden, proudly posing for the camera whilst wearing a dandelion in her hair and playing with her toys.

Other photos show the sheer length of her sizable schnoz which spans a whopping 12.2 inches, and a family portrait was taken on her recent birthday.
Eris has just celebrated her second year on May 19, 2020. The jewelry store owner, Lily Kambourian, 27, from Richmond, and her partner Savannah first adopted her on July 23, 2018.
The Virginian uses an iPhone XR to post pics of her pooch on their Instagram account which is nearing almost 200,000 followers. Named after the Greek goddess of strife and discord, the canine’s full title is jokingly ‘Madam Eris Overbite, Queen of Snoots’.
‘Eris was born to a litter of three in Keysville, Virginia. When we went to go visit the puppies, it was apparent they might have an overbite,’ said Lily.

‘This would rule them out for any dog shows as it is a genetic defect. But that didn’t bother us. She came right up to us and sat on my partner’s lap.
‘We get stopped a lot when we are walking Eris because most people are trying to figure out what breed she is, but we’ve started finding paths through the neighborhood where we can actually get a walk done.’
The name of the breed translates to ‘fast’ in Russian, where they are also known as wolfhounds. From nose to tail, Eris spans four-feet-nine-inches, with her nose being a foot long.
Borzois originated in 17th-century Russia. The aristocracy liked the breed for their peculiar look and extremely good hunting skills because there, the aristocracy often organized large hunting parties. Borzoi literally means “fast.” They’re otherwise known as Russian wolfhounds (not to be confused with a greyhound) or walking clouds (ain’t that cute?). They’re independent and an athletic breed, reaching around 26-30 inches at the shoulder as adults and weighing around 100 lbs. They’re usually very quiet as they don’t bark that often, and they adapt well to suburban life. So, there you go. Enjoy this definitive gallery of long-snouted beauty Eris!
