For the First Time in 30 Years – the Himalayas Are Visible 125 Miles Away in Parts of India

Many areas of the country have experienced a large drop in air pollution, like other parts of the world, since the world’s largest lockdown impacted over 1.7 billion people. There’s one good thing coming out of this coronavirus pandemic for India, a country infamous for its dirty air, it is that its national lockdown and self-distancing measures are helping to improve the air quality and causing dramatic drops in pollution levels.

Some residents in the Indian state who are around 125 miles (over 200 kilometers) have reported that parts of the Himalayas are now visible from their area and this has been possible for the first time in 30 years. They are enjoying the majestic view.
