It is always fun to learn new facts about people, animals, or things that surround us daily. If we would focus on animals only, here’s a fun fact about owlets. Did you know they sleep laying down on their stomach like most of the humans do because their heads are to big to sleep upright?
Keeping their talons tightly gripped on a branch, the owlets lie down on their stomachs, turned their heads to the side, and fell asleep. Their naps are short, and when they are asleep, they do not like to be awakened, even to be fed.
They manage to stay up on the tree while taking a nap thanks to the strength of their back toe called the hallux which keeps the animal tethered to the branch without moving until the owlet bends its leg. It might sound weird, well.. owls in general are kinda weird with their 270 degree head rotation, but the napping time is actually cute to see.
