There are no winners in war. Only immense losses. The most expensive losses in war are undoubtedly the lives of harmless people. The war changes people and breaks lives and destinies. Life will never be the same, and the trauma and the pain will never be forgotten.
A recent post on Twitter has gone viral displaying how the face of president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has changed in just 41 days. User @Axel_Gruenewald replied to the post with a really truthful statement, saying that “war leaves its marks on faces. Even in the faces of those who seem unharmed”.
Although there seem to be fewer updates coming from the media organizations, the war is still in full swing and every minute of it can cost someone’s life. Take a look at some of the most heart-wrenching posts people have shared online that will touch the deepest parts of your soul and perhaps make a tear run down your face.
When it seems that we are helpless to stop the war as single individuals, there are endless ways to help. For those in a position to donate money, we urge you to consider donating to charities that provide protection and humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian refugees. Some charities giving aid to the Ukrainian refugees are UNCHR, ICRC, and UNFPA.
