Vacationers Find Alligator Lounging on Pool Float at Florida Airbnb

Alligator on vacation? We have all seen very strange things happening throughout our lifetime. But nothing could ever come close to what I am about to tell you about! Have you ever seen an animal, on a pool lounger? Probably not. And even less likely, an alligator on an alligator pool float! Yes, you heard that right! Can you imagine finding one of these scaly reptiles in your pool?

You might not be able to imagine it, but, hey, the strangest things do really seem to happen in Florida!
When Dave Jacobs traveled to Florida with his family, he found a nice Airbnb in South Miami.

The Jacobs family were in town for a wedding, but they had a strange and totally unexpected experience in the exact day.

The family first spotted the alligator in the lake outside of their vacation rental on Saturday.

Jacobs said they thought it was pretty cute, especially since their dog seemed less than impressed by it.

At least, that’s usually how you know something is gonna happen when the dog spends all day barking.

From the way the dog spent the day barking and running around the screened-in pool deck, Jacobs suspected that the alligator might have been teasing their dog.

However, this was not the case.

“We thought that was pretty cute,” Jacobs said. “Then, the next day, it just showed up in the pool.”
After seeing double, Jacobs said his 14-year-old daughter described the sight as “so meta.” , which in the urban dictionary may mean something beyond logical explanation.

So they called the Airbnb’s owner, who eventually got a gator wrangler to fish the real reptile out of the pool.

“I guess it’s not that unusual, but it was unusual to me,” Jacobs told the paper.

Eventually, the gator wrangler was able to fish the reptile out of the pool.

He told Jacobs he’s been busy lately because it’s mating season for alligators.

Still, what for the wrangler was just a daily routine, it was a big deal for the Jacobs family.

We have gators in Georgia, but they’re just in areas that are not as populated, like some swamp where no one lives,” Jacobs says.
“But in Florida, they’re just in your neighborhoods.”

So, depending on your location, if you live in Florida seeing the odd alligator isn’t all that surprising.

Although this doesn’t necessarily mean you should expect to see an alligator every time you open the door, there’s also no guarantee that you won’t.
And that’s a harsh reality that surprised Jackob family while they were on vacation.
They eventually left the home to make the trek back to Georgia, taking with them such unique Florida experience to share with friends and family.

But what do the experts say about such news?

Brian Norris of Florida Fish and Wildlife says that they’re probably just ‘browsing around’.
“They have to find some food so that’s when we’ll find them on sidewalks and people’s pools” he claimed.

Overall, alligators seem to like pools, but what about people? Do they enjoy finding them in pools?

People can expect to encounter an alligator in a storm sewer, the end of an airport runway, and the local gold course when in Florida. But they do not expect to encounter them in swimming pools. And when it happens, as it could be noticed, they won’t seem to enjoy it much.

Vet Goes Viral After Naming 5 Dog And 4 Cat Breeds He Would Never Purchase

For most of the pet lovers there, we know we are choosing our pets wisely (if we have the chance to). Some things have to be considered, like our capability to raise the animal or the practicality of raising a certain breed. Because sometimes, you would be allured by the look of the pet and only realize that it would be hard to maintain the pet.

The veterinarian Ben (@ben.the.vet) shares the same viewpoint. So he published a video where he ran down the breeds of cats and dogs that would have the most disadvantages for him as a vet. Keep in mind that this list is from a veterinarian’s perspective and is subjective. This does not intend to foster aversion towards the mentioned breeds.
